I really liked groove music but lets face it I was a young white boy
from Kansas, just how funky could I get?" |
Russell started playing guitar sometime in 1973 when his Dad sat him
down and showed him a "D" chord. He listened to all kinds of music:
Country, Bluegrass, Rock, and R&B. He took various private lessons and
played in a few bands up till the end of high school. Soon after that
he set out to serve his time in a Las Vegas show band. They traveled
around the country playing in hotels and showrooms until the time when
the entire band moved to Vegas. There he shared a house with two
British gents who really taught him how to relate the music theory to
the guitar. He played in a few different bands till Vegas burnout set
in and then moved back to the land of OZ in 1990. |
